Jaimatha English Medium Senior Secondary School had its humble beginning 25 years ago in a small building in the city of Kasargod, Kottekani, near the new Bus Stand. A few years prior to that, Rev. Msgr. Mathew Chalil, then corporate manager of Schools of Tellicherry Archdiocese had rented a room and started to offer Sunday Mass every Sunday to make it convenient for the Catholics in the city to attend Mass. Slowly, he became aware of the need for a more permanent set up and he brought a property in the city and built a Church to celebrate Mass. Being aware of the need of the people, he decided to bring the sisters to start a Nursery school to educate the young children in the area.

Convent in Kasaragod:
With this in mind, Fr. Chalil approached Mother Rosebella, then Provincial Superior of the Adoration Sisters in Tellicherry. After much thinking and consultation she agreed to send some sisters to start a convent in Kasargod. They bought a small house and property, not too far from the Church, and started a nursery in 1991. Slowly a proper building was constructed to conduct the LKG, UKG classes. In response to the demands of the parents, First Standard was started and then continued to add 2nd , 3rd and 4th Standard. Until the year 1999, Jaimatha continued in Kottekani. Realizing that we did not have enough property to build a school, a larger plot was bought in Uliyathaduka in 1997.

Managers:
Sr. Flora was the first manager of Jaimatha Nursery School. Sr. Flora was succeeded by Sr. Jose Clare. In 2001, Sr. Lilly Maria became the Manager of Jaimatha English Medium School. Sister Lilly Maria efficiently managed the construction of the the new buildings and shifting of the classes from Kottekani to Uliyathaduka. The school achieved steady progress under the diligent care of Sr. Lilly Maria until she left for her eternal reward on 31 July 2007, following a road accident on Kasargod –Padannakad road. Jaimatha suffered a great loss and grieved her untimely departure but remain grateful for her efficient and self-less service during the early years of its growth. Since she had laid a solid foundation, her successor, Sr. Carmel Tresa could continue to work for its further progress. She worked hard to start the Senior Secondary School and to ensure its growth.

In 2011, Sr. Immaculate Mary succeeded Sr. Carmel Tresa and continues to guide the progress of Jaimatha with the cooperation of the Principal, Sr. Teresitta Elanjimattam and dedicated sisters and teachers who are the backbones of Jaimatha School. Their dedicated, hard work ensured that the school achieved 100% pass every year except one year.

New Location:
In 1999, Standard 3, 4, and 5 were shifted to the new location in Uliyathaduka. In 2001 the first and second Standards also were moved to the new school. LKG and UKG continued to function in Kottekani. In 1998, we got NOC from the State. On 4 April 2001, the school received CBSE recognition.

Minority Status:
In 2008 (March 17) the School received Minority Status Certificate. We place in record our deep gratitude to Sr. Jessy Kurian who was a member of the committee and helped us to get the certificate.

Affiliation:
In 2001, Jaimatha received affiliation for 3 years with affiliation No. 9731.
In 2004, affiliation was renewed (No. 930230) for 5 years.
In 2009, Senior Secondary School was started and the affiliation was renewed for three years. In 2013 the present affiliation was renewed until 2019.

Construction:
In Kottekani classrooms were built for the Nursery and primary classes. As the school shifted to Uliyathaduka, the total school building was made available for the LKG and UKG classes.

Soon after obtaining property in Uliayathaduka construction started and on 2 February 2002 the first building was blessed by Mar George Valiyamattam who always had a fraternal care for the growth of the parish in Kasargod and development of Jaimatha School. According to the specification of CBSE, a play ground was prepared in 2002. As the school grew construction continued and in a few years the new block was completed in 2008. In 2009, the new basket ball court was constructed. As permission was sought and received for Senior Secondary School, a new building was constructed in 2011 and Fire Fighting devices were set up all through the school in 2011. Rain water harvest for 30,000 Lt was constructed in 2014. An open auditorium was constructed in 2015 improving the appearance of the School and making it convenient for the children.

Realizing the necessity of providing quality modern education to the not so well to do children of parents who are socially and educationally backward without any discrimination among children in the backward DISTRICT KASARAGOD at affordable cost , THE SISTERS OF THE ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT established the School in the year 1994 through its educational wing JAIMATHA EDUCATIONAL TRUST .
